As more and more people are considering the environment, they are choosing eco-friendly materials to decorate their homes. They choose to have things look the way that they want them to coincide with preserving the world in which they live. To some extent, the world itself is very resilient. It can stand up to a certain amount of abuse without any ill effects; however, using green material such as bamboo, thatch and grasses are all sustainable materials and meets both purposes. Savvy homeowners attempt to use as many things as possible both indoors and outdoors that are environmentally-friendly.
Outdoors People can use materials when decorating their yards in order for their homes to be beautiful. After all, they can really enjoy the place that they live with bamboo paneling, bac-bac matting, bamboo rugs and tiki huts. What they should do, is to look for ways to decorate with these materials that are not harmful to the earth and can reduce their carbon footprint drastically.
Matting For example, they could decide to use sea grass matting instead of mats that are made out of plastic or rubber. This can help in two ways. The sea grass matting will break down and decompose when it is no longer attractive and usable in the yard, whereas rubber and plastic will not. Furthermore, the process of making a rubber mat or a plastic one creates a lot of smoke and other such pollutants, but the grass is just grown naturally.
Fencing Another example is using a wholesale bamboo fence instead of one that is made from plastic. Again, the process of creating the fence will be much better for the environment, and there will not be as much waste. Any bamboo that is no longer needed will just decompose and turn to soil so that more can be grown. It can be used in a compost pile or in a garden. Decomposition is a natural process, and this is how things work in the wild. It will not have a negative impact on the ecological system in any way.
Roofing Finally, a person may want to think about having a thatched roof put up in a backyard shelter instead of one that uses asphalt shingles. The thatched roof will look much more unique, so people will really notice it and they will compliment the homeowner's backyard decor. If parts of it break or have to be replaced, the debris that falls to the ground will not be bad for the soil or the water table.
